John Snider’s Celebration of Life
The world lost an incredible person, John Snider, in February of 2022.
John Snider’s family invites you to join them for a celebration of his life, on April 23, 2022 in Myrtle Point, Oregon.
John’s family tells about his love and passion for the outdoors, books, food, travel, and his favorite place in the world, Argentina, where he’d planned to retire. He had indescribable love for his family, his world; his girls, their mother, and his grandchildren, who cannot begin to express how much they will miss their “Papa John”.
One never knew when John would show up on their farm in his rubber boots, shovel in hand, to offer his recommendations in that straight forward, pragmatic fashion he was known for. An advocate of science and caring for the land for future generations, John advised many research projects on seed selection, grazing management, and regenerative farming systems. As we all seek to continue his legacy, his family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Chico State “John Snider Memorial Scholarship for Regenerative Agriculture”, created to honor his lifetime of work and dedication to sustainable farming. These funds will go to students who are working for the “Center for Regenerative Agriculture and Resilient Systems” as stipends to support their education in soil health and regenerative agriculture. The information for donations is at the bottom of this page.
For gifts using a credit card, below is a link to the giving page with the Center for Regenerative Agriculture and Resilient Systems prepopulated. In the Other field please write: “In memory of John Snider.”
